Yay, yay, yay - it's complaints day! (printer ink)

YAY!  This kvetch is apparently resolved before I could even get a chance to post it here... I love when that happens!  I was worried about this one because it's a cheesy off-brand company marketing remanufactured cartridges... they could easily have blown me off.  If the replacement cartridge works, they'll get my business again for sure.

Though I'm counting myself lucky that the remanufactured ink didn't kill my printer altogether, as I have heard is possible.  Let this be a warning to somebody, if not me.

Please note:  there is a problem with the HP56-compatible (black) ink cartridge that arrived with this order.
After printing a few sheets with the new cartridge, the printer is giving an error, flashing lights, and will not print with your cartridge.  Replacing the cartridge with the original (name-brand, oem model) fixes the problem, but it returns when I insert your company's cartridge.

I'd like a replacement cartridge sent to the same address as the original order since we are now totally out of ink.

Please call or email as soon as possible regarding this problem.

Thank you!

(I haven't used the coloured one yet so don't know whether it has a similar problem or not)

Ancient Auction Secret: If Chinese auctions are racist, why do Jews love them so much?

Ah, Jews, Jews, Jews, Jews.  You sure do love your Chinese auctions, don’t you? It seems that even in an era of political correctness, within certain circles, this term just will not die . And frankly, I’m mortified. I’m not Chinese, but I have family who is Chinese.  Some are Korean, as well.  I guess this makes us more ethnically diverse than many Jews, but I suspect most Jewish families are moving in this direction.  Still.  Even if we don’t know a single Chinese person, we should still stop calling it that. First of all… is it actually racist to call it a Chinese auction? I figured I’d let Chinese people decide.  But when I turned to Google to find out how Chinese people feel about Chinese auctions, what I found was mostly… nothing.  Silence.  I did find some debate (presumably among non-Chinese people) over whether it was too far in the direction of political correctness to refer to these as a “silent auction” or (as in some parts of the States) a “tricky tray.”  (Ok
