Everybody’s gone to bed! Who am I going to gloat to? I guess that’s why I have a blog.
Ted’s brother and sister are staying at Toronto’s lovely Harbour Castle Westin.
[Like all downtown hotels, the amenities are lovely, but the rooms are smaller than the Holiday Inn Yorkdale and the pool, I’d say, is not as nice. But they like the downtown view, I guess, and proximity to the Air Canada Centre, where my sister-in-law is attending some kind of uber-Christian revival tent meeting… but that’s for a whole ‘nother post.]
So I mentioned to his brother, who’s about fifteen years older than me (55???) that when I was little, it was a Hilton; the Harbour Castle Hilton.
And he said – “no!” He argued loud and proud that he’d been staying there forever, since I was but a pup, and it was ALWAYS, always, always a Westin.
Ha. Wikipedia believes otherwise.
“The hotel was originally built in 1975 as the Harbour Castle Hilton by the Campeau Corporation. As part of a property swap in 1987, it was exchanged with Hilton Hotels for the Toronto Hilton (formerly Toronto Westin Hotel) and became a part of the Westin Hotels chain.”
Oooh – Ted’s still up. I showed him. I feel victorious indeed now.
