“Enough with the paranoia; let's get back to teaching.” So says YD, in an eye-opening blog post on the state of institutionalized chinuch (ie Jewish schools) today.
Essentially, what he’s saying is that schools should stop micromanaging every sign of badness in children: kids’ middos (like everybody’s) will develop over time if they’re in the right environment.
He suggests that schools have lost sight of the ultimate goal – their future.
VERY important stuff. Don’t take my word for it: read it, even if you’re homeschooling. You don’t have to love his musical selections to agree with him on the big stuff!
