Shabbos Food

I told Ted I could cook for Shabbos entirely on my own without terrorizing my entire family into tears.  Not entirely sure I can.

Crossing everything out as I go…

Dinner:

  • Challah (still need to rise and form and bake – ouch!)
  • Chicken soup w/kneidlach & veg (still need to prep veg)
  • Oven-baked spring rolls – in the oven as I write this
  • Corn – just needs steaming
  • Green beans – maybe with miso again?

Lunch:

  • Challah
  • Cholent
  • Blintz “soufflé” – one of those creamy casseroles with blueberry blintzes baked inside
  • Steamed Broccoli salad – still have to prep, cut, steam broc
  • Salmon loaf (almond milk so it’s pareve)
  • Cheese slices
  • Pickles

Desserts:

  • Brownies from scratch (based on these)
  • Something else, less chocolatey – but what???  An easy lemon cake?  Aha!
  • Raspberry “Poke Cake” – garnished with whipped coconut milk?

Candlelighting:  4:39 pm – just over an hour to go – eeeeeeek!!!
