Cuz there are still some people out there who don’t know about Google’s coolest feature – and it’s NOT Google Street View, though that is pretty cool.
No, it’s a simple feature that’s been around for years… Google math!
I use it mostly for conversions. To convert a temperature from celsius to fahrenheit, all you have to do is type in the Google search box “58 degrees celsius in fahrenheit,” and it tells you the answer is 136.4.
It’s also terrific for converting metric measurements to imperial (what our U.S. friends call “standard,” not wanting anything do with a monarchy). For example, type in “3kg in ounces” and you’ll find out the answer is 105.821886. (you have to be careful, though, because ounces are tricky – they can be weight or volume…I think)
But it can also just do simple math: type in “18/3” and you’ll have your answer presto (um, 6?).
Anyway, if you’re interested in what else that terrific little Google search box can do for you, you’ll find a page here that explains these amazing features – with examples – and many more I couldn’t personally care less about, but which may revolutionize your life!
What would we do without Google? Shudder. I don’t even want to think about it. Google has my life in the palm of its hand. Even this blog!
